(AUDIO) CARLY PEARCE CHOSE WILDFLOWERS TO REMIND HER SHE’S STILL STANDING, STILL ALIVE AND FEELING HOPEFUL AND STRONG

CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”

Last month, Carly Pearce got a tattoo of a bouquet of wildflowers on her inner right forearm, just above her tattoo of the outline of her home state of Kentucky.  When she shared the picture of the tattoo, she wrote, “’Wildflowers are the first things to pop up after a long winter season.’ Here’s to seeing the wildflowers starting to sprout again.”

Carly purposely got the tattoo in a place where she could always see it because she says, “I wanted to see it so that I can remember how far I’ve come.  It’s no new news that I’ve had arguably the hardest year of my life on a lot of fronts, and had moments where I really didn’t know if I was gonna be able to do it and make it.”

In 2020, Carly went through the painful process of grieving the loss of her dear friend, champion and only producer she had ever worked with, busbee, who passed away at the end of September 2019.  Like everyone else, she was faced with having her life brought to a screeching halt by the pandemic, not being able to work, not being able to pay her band and not knowing when she would be able to tour again.  She feared for her mom’s health and safety during the pandemic because her mom is battling stage four COPD.  Carly got divorced after just eight months of marriage, and she recently revealed that just days before she performed on the CMA Awards and accepted the trophy for Musical Event of the Year with Lee Brice for “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” she fell and hit her face on concrete, similar to what happened to Carrie Underwood, breaking her two front teeth and having to get stitches in her upper and lower lip.

Thinking about all that has happened in the last year, Carly says, “We all go through seasons of just feeling like there’s no way I’m going to be able to get over this.  And I’m still standing and I’m still alive and I’m hopeful and wanted to show myself just how strong I was.  I’ll never forget 2020 on a lot of levels.”

“Yes, I definitely got it in a visible place as a reminder.  I wanted to see it so that I can remember how far I’ve come.  It’s no new news that I’ve had arguably the hardest year of my life on a lot of fronts, and had moments where I really didn’t know if I was gonna be able to do it and make it.  We all go through seasons of just feeling like there’s no way I’m going to be able to get over this, and I’m still standing and I’m still alive and I’m hopeful and wanted to show myself just how strong I was.  I’ll never forget 2020 on a lot of levels.”
