CURRENT SINGLE: “If It Wasn’t for Trucks”
Riley Green has seen enough success in his career in the last few years that we wondered if he was able to have a little more fun at Christmas buying his family nicer gifts than he could when he was working construction. He says, “They definitely get nicer things but the wrapping paper hasn’t changed. I do it in newspaper, put it in like shopping bags, like come in and just like throw the stuff out for the kids.”
Last year Riley got to do something fun for his nieces and nephews. He says, “I just took all the kids to Walmart and said they could pick out one thing.”
While Riley can afford nicer gifts for his family, they’re not way nicer than what he gave them before his music career took off because he confesses “I probably lived a little bit above my means when I was doing construction. So, I tried to take care of everybody, but I’ve always been that type that I get a lot more out of buying something for somebody that’s took care of me than even buying something for myself. So, it’s a pretty meaningful thing to be able to take care of your loved ones.”
Riley built his home down in Alabama with enough space to be able to use it for family celebrations and parties, so chances are, he’ll be hosting Christmas this year
Riley Green – Christmas giving :31
“They definitely get nicer things but the wrapping paper hasn’t changed. I do it in newspaper, put it in like shopping bags, like come in and just like throw the stuff out for the kids. Last year I just took all the kids to Walmart and said they could pick out one thing. Of course it’s great to be able to take care of your family and take ‘em out to dinner and things like that. I feel like the kind of middle of the road answer is, I probably lived a little bit above my means when I was doing construction. So, I tried to take care of everybody, but I’ve always been that type that I get a lot more out of buying something for somebody that’s took care of me than even buying something for myself.
