CURRENT SINGLE: “If It Wasn’t for Trucks”
If you follow Riley Green on social media, then you’ve probably seen that he has been out in the woods and elsewhere hunting just about everything in season for the past several months. Besides getting to enjoy his passion for hunting, Riley says, “I don’t think there’s a better time to sit and think and get your life in somewhat in order than when you’re sittin’ in the woods and nothin’s showing up.”
While hunting is like a vacation for Riley and something that allows him to relax and unwind, he says, “I’ve tried to write some, and I feel a little bit lazy because I haven’t done more than I have, but at the end of the day, you know, writing’s never felt like work for me. I mean, if I was back on the road 300 days a year, I’d still write the same amount because I enjoy that.”
As much as Riley would love to get back on the road and back to his heavy touring schedule because he knows his own band and crew are struggling with the effects of the pandemic, like so many other people, unfortunately the decision is out of his hands. So for now, he’s trying to make the most of the unusual time off while it’s here, and he admits, “It’s been a really nice break, you know. And to hit right during hunting season was, I guess the positive in all that too.”

But the hunting part of it, it’s horrible what’s going on, and there’s a lot of folks that have really been affected in a negative way, and my camp’s the same way, but man, it’s been a really nice break, you know. And to hit right during hunting season was, I guess the positive in all that too.”
