CURRENT SINGLE: “How They Remember You”
Rascal Flatts has won over four dozen awards in their time together as a band, from their ACM Top New Vocal Duo or Group award to multiple Group of the Year trophies, the ACA Artist of the Decade Award, the TJ Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award and so many others. And while the group cherishes each and every award, Jay DeMarcus had an interesting answer when asked which award in Rascal Flatts’ career he is most proud of. “This is a weird answer,” said Jay, “but I’m especially proud of our T-Mobile Text-In award that we won at the American Music Awards.”
The award was also considered the Artist of the Year Award at the AMA’s, and Jay says the reason it was so big to win is because, “We were up against Beyonce … who else were we up against? … I mean, a bunch of pop artists that were really hot. It was 2006, we were comin’ off of Cars, we were comin’ off of ‘What Hurts the Most,’ which was a big pop hit for us, and we won the T-Mobile Text-In Award, that was all fan voted at the American Music Awards, and it was huge. And I never will forget how big that was in that moment of having been on that stage and accepting that award.”
With over 40 trophies from the ACA, ACM, AMA, CMA, People’s Choice and more, Rascal Flatts is the most awarded country group of the past two decades.
