(AUDIO) CARLY PEARCE FOCUSES ON THE PRESENT TO AVOID ANXIETY ABOUT THE FUTURE

CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”

Carly Pearce’s favorite place in the world is on stage performing a live show.  Since that’s not something she can do right now and she doesn’t know when that’s going to happen, rather than staring at the calendar and getting depressed, she tries to stay focused on the now and the good things happening in her life.  “I would be lying to you if I said it wasn’t difficult. Of course it would make this whole process a lot easier to know when I could get back out on the road.”

Since that decision is out of her control, Carly says remembering to count her blessings every day has been a big source of keeping depression or anxiety at bay.  Plus, even though she’s not out on the road seeing them every night, she says, “I’m really lucky to still feel connected to country fans.  They’ve given me, honestly, the biggest year of my career (2020 with her second #1 song and CMA Award for “I Hope You’re Happy Now”), and I feel them so close to me.”

Throughout the pandemic, Carly has been able to connect with her fans on a more personal and emotional level through social media, and they have been so supportive during the good and the bad times.  So, Carly tries to soak up all that love, while also making the most of this unexpected time off the road by “[trying to] make the best music that I can because we don’t typically get this kind of time to just focus on music. It’s typically like, where can you fit it in, in everything else that you’re doing.

Based on the two new songs Carly has shared with her fans, so far – her latest single, “Next Girl” and the beautiful and emotional tribute to her late producer busbee, “Show Me Around,” it’s safe to say Carly has been making excellent use of her time.

Carly Pearce – how live in present  :40

I would be lying to you if I said it wasn’t difficult. Of course it would make this whole process a lot easier to know when I could get back out on the road. But I think trying to count my blessings in the moment, and I think I’m really lucky to still feel connected to country fans.  They’ve given me, honestly, the biggest year of my career, and I feel them so close to me. So, just really trying to understand, yes, it’s not the physical way that I want to be with them, but they’re showing me this feeling that I’ve needed so badly – and just trying to really soak that in and make the best music that I can because we don’t typically get this kind of time to just focus on music. It’s typically like, where can you fit it in, in everything else that you’re doing.
