CURRENT SINGLE: “We Didn’t Have Much”
If you’ve ever looked closely at one of Justin Moore’s CD’s or any of his merchandise, you may have seen a rooster on them. That’s the logo for Rebel Rooster, the business name chose to run all of his music business affairs. For those wondering how Justin came up with that name, he says, “Our first single was ‘Back That Thing Up,’ and it had a rooster crowin’ at the beginning. You always try to come up with a logo, and I thought, well, we’ll make the rooster the logo.”
They decided to name the rooster Rebel, and Justin says, “I have a little statue kinda deal of a rooster that has been on every one of my buses. We mount it inside every bus, so I just named my company Rebel Rooster.”
The legend of Rebel the Rooster also explains how Justin’s band got its name. When they came up with Rebel Rooster, Justin says, “That’s when we were first startin’ as a band, so we looked up what the meanest fightin’ cock was, what they called him, and it was called a Double Barrel Ace. So that’s where, like, the name of my band came from. So, the whole thing just revolved around this rooster that we call Rebel.”
