CURRENT SINGLE: “If It Wasn’t for Trucks”
During the pandemic, if Riley Green wasn’t working on music, he was probably in a deer stand or a duck blind, hunting. While Riley loves hunting in general, if he had to pick his favorites, he says, “I love bow huntin’. There’s something about a deer that’s got to get so close to you. And, I mean, it’s more difficult for one thing. Where you hang a stand at’s important. I mean you can shoot a rifle two or 300 yards, but a deer’s gotta be within 40 yards to shoot it with a bow. There’s something to that.”
As his Instagram name – @rileyduckman implies, Riley also loves to duck hunt. “Duck huntin’ I got really hung up on when I was in high school,” says Riley. “You don’t have to be quiet. You don’t have to be still. You don’t have to put deer piss on you. You get to just kinda hang out with your buddies and drink coffee. You know, and then when a duck shows up, you know, and the callin’ back-and-forth to him. That’s the one thing I like about turkey huntin’ is, they win more often than I do, so I’m mad at turkeys.”
The good news for Riley is that his touring schedule is starting to fill up again, which means his hunting time will probably have to be scaled back for a while. But we’re guessing he won’t mind, considering how long it’s been since he’s been able to tour.
