NEW SINGLE: “Not Yet”
Brett Young just announced on Friday that he’ll be releasing a new collection of songs on June 4th called Weekends Look a Little Different These Days, featuring his #1 song, “Lady,” his brand new single, “Not Yet,” and six other new songs. Brett has always been a fan of complete albums, but he says, “When we got together to talk about what we were gonna do next, what we came to was, we did EP and then finished the record with the first album. We have five songs ready, ‘Lady’ being one of ‘em that’s already mastered. Let’s let that flagship this whole EP.”
Brett realizes that the landscape of music is changing, and fans want more music more often, which a lot of artists are giving them. So, he wanted to find a way to do that without sacrificing the quality of the music he’s delivering. “We could probably do the whole album now,” says Brett, but that gives us time to maybe beat songs for the back half of it. I just don’t want to be left behind because artists are putting out song after song after song, not really caring where they go. And that’s not a knock. If these artists are writing songs that quickly that are that relatable, then they should put them out.”
Plus, it’s been almost two and a half years since Brett released his last album, Ticket to L.A., and although he says, “I’ve always been a little bit more old-school, about here’s the album.” He acknowledges, “There have been so many new things come out around it that I feel like I need to bring out something new. And I’ve been writing, so why not.”
Fans can pre-order Weekends Look A Little Different These Days now, through BrettYoungMusic.com, and then the 8-song project will be available on June 4th.
