(AUDIO) CARLY PEARCE WROTE “NEXT GIRL” AS AN ODE TO 90’S COUNTRY EMPOWERMENT ANTHEMS

CURRENT SINGLE: “Next Girl”

When Carly Pearce was writing and recording songs for her 29 collection, she often found herself asking, “What Would Patty Do?” As in 90’s country singer, Patty Loveless.  For instance, Carly says, “When we wrote ‘Next Girl,’ I felt like we tapped into what Patty Loveless would do in 2020, in the sense of ‘Blame It on Your Heart’ and all those power anthems of the 90s.”

Carly has always been a fan of the strong, confident women of the 90’s who fearlessly sang about the truth. “I loved female anthems,” says Carly.  “I felt like there were so many honest but fun, empowering songs back then from all of those women.”

Carly definitely nailed that fearless empowerment in her latest single, “Next Girl.”
