(AUDIO) JUSTIN MOORE REMEMBERS THE CONCERT THAT MADE THE BIGGEST IMPRESSION ON HIM WHEN HE WAS A KID

CURRENT SINGLE: “We Didn’t Have Much”

Throughout his life, Justin Moore has seen a lot of concerts, but if he had to pick the first one that left a lasting impression on him and that he still remembers to this day, it would be going to see one of his musical heroes about 30 years ago.  “I’m a huge Charlie Daniels fan, always have been,” says Justin.  “To be able to call him a mentor/friend was beyond ridiculous to me. But I remember seeing him, I was probably seven, eight years old. There’s a theme park about 30, 40 minutes from where I’m from back in Arkansas, called Magic Springs. But they used to have eight or ten concerts throughout the summer every year, and I went and saw Charlie Daniels.”

As a young country music fan, getting to see Charlie Daniels at a venue about 40 minutes from his tiny hometown of Poyen, Arkansas, as opposed to having to travel hours to one of the bigger surrounding cities was a big deal to Justin.  “[I remember] just thinkin’, ‘Oh my gosh. Man, this is so awesome,’ because it was so rare for bigger artists to come through where I was from.  So, to see him come through this smaller town and play, It was like Elvis Presley, you know.”

Imagine what seven or eight year old Justin would have thought if you’d told him that one day he would grow up and not only meet Charlie Daniels, but become friends with him before he passed away.
