CURRENT SINGLE: “Like A Lady”
The pandemic was challenging for everybody, including Lady A, who struggled with not being able to perform live, but Hillary Scott says, “I think one of the biggest challenges, you know we walked through arguably one of the hardest things we’ve ever been through as a band, when we couldn’t gather together. That was really hard to just not feel like we can just drive to each other‘s houses and hug it out.”
Plus, when an artist makes an album, the ultimate goal is to be able to go out and play it live for their fans, and Hillary says, ”Writing for a record, all of our creativity was poured into ‘we’re gonna do this in hopes that we’ll be able to sing these songs live again.’ And so, I think there was just this hopefulness and also this like, desperation of like we’re gonna keep doing what we love to do, what we feel called to do, even though we don’t know when we’ll be able to really actually bring it to the world again.”
Now that Lady A is getting ready to kick off their What A Song Can Do Tour this Thursday, with special guests Carly Pearce, Niko Moon and Tenille Arts, Hillary says, “To be determined if we’re rusty. I think we might just be a little bit.”
Charles Kelley is certain the band will need a little help getting back into the groove. He says, “Definitely on lyrics we’re gonna be rusty but that’s where the fans’ll help us out.”
