(AUDIO) THOMAS RHETT IS ALWAYS CREATING TO THE LAST POSSIBLE SECOND

CURRENT SINGLE: “Country Again”

Thomas Rhett is one of the most prolific songwriters in Nashville, always creating, always writing and always thinking about the next project and the next project and the one after that.  So, how does he know when an album or a collection of songs, like his Country Again: Side A project, is done?  “Well, it’s still not done,” Thomas explains.  “We still have Side B left to go, and I thought we were done with that like six months ago, and I literally just went back in the studio to record six more songs for the second side of the project.”

The one thing that forces Thomas to call a project finished is a deadline.  For instance, he says, “I knew that Side A had a turn-in date, and for me that was really tough because we’d already recorded 25 or 26 songs, and I was like, ‘Well dang, how are we going to split these up?  And am I gonna be upset knowing there’s one on Side B that I wish was on Side A?”

At some point though, Thomas knows he has to trust that he’s made the right decisions for the project he’s working on, and hand it over so his record label can get it out to his fans. “I think there comes a point where you have to just listen down to a collection of songs and go, I think these are great.”
