Midland is grateful to be back out touring after a year and a half off the road due to the pandemic, but even before the unexpected time off, lead singer Mark Wystrach maintained his gratitude by never forgetting the jobs he did before music that he’s glad are in his past. “I think about that stuff all the time actually, before we’re going on stage,” says Mark. “I think of all the different jobs I’ve had, waiting tables, bouncing. When we’re on the road and you get tired and before you get on stage, you constantly need to take perspective.”
So even pre-pandemic when Midland was touring non-stop and felt like they were sometimes running on fumes, Mark would remind himself, “It’s a hard road doing what we’re doing but beats the hell out of bouncing and dishwashing.”
