As if last Thursday (9/2) vistors to Carly Pearce’s hometown of Taylor Mill, KY, will be greeted by a sign that reads, “Welcome to Taylor Mill, Hometown of Country Music Star, Carly Pearce.” Carly was presented with a key to the city along with the sign by Mayor Daniel Bell, who also declared September 2, 2021, Carly Pearce Day in Taylor Mill.
Carly told ABC Audio that she and her parents were feeling pretty emotional at the ceremony because, “Taylor Mill means so much to me on so many levels, so the fact that they want to give me a sign that says ‘HOME OF CARLY PEARCE’ is kind of like every little childhood dream that I had playing at talent shows in the town.”
While Carly now calls Nashville home, she says, “I’ve always been told you never forget where you came from, and I think this album in particular has really brought me home musically, and so, I’m so excited.”
Carly wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate with anyone other than her parents because she says, “All of these things that are happening to me were a dream that my parents helped bring to fruition for me, so it’s definitely like a trifecta of emotions through the three of us because they were there every step of the way, and they were there when it wasn’t working and when I thought about giving up.”
Next, Carly is preparing to release her new album 29: Written in Stone, on Friday 9/17, featuring the seven songs from her 29 project and eight brand new songs.
