CURRENT SINGLE: “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” w/ Ashley McBryde
Carly Pearce has been on the road with Lady A for the last couple of months, as direct support for their What A Song Can Do Tour, which means there are a couple of opening acts before her, and she’s the last artist to play before Lady A takes the stage, which is a big deal. Carly says, “I feel like I graduated a little bit. Maybe I’m a sophomore now instead of a freshman. Do you know how exciting that is for me?”
As the very first opener on a tour, you usually travel with your band and the bare minimum – maybe a backdrop banner with your name on it, or a graphic to put on the video screen as your backdrop, and you usually get 15 – 20 minutes to make an impression on the fans who showed up early to watch you before the sun has even gone down. But now, in the direct support spot, Carly says, “I get lights, I get a set, I get 45 minutes and I’m not sweating in the first 30 seconds of me being out there.”
The What A Song Can Do Tour will wrap up this Sunday (10/10), and then Carly will launch her own headlining theater tour, The 29 Tour, on November 4th. You can see her full tour schedule on CarlyPearce.com.
Carly Pearce – being last opening act :19
“You know, it’s really fun. This is the first tour that I’m not the opening act, which is nice. I feel like I graduated a little bit. Maybe I’m a sophomore now instead of a freshman. Do you know how exciting that is for me? I get lights, I get a set, I get 45 minutes and I’m not sweating in the first 30 seconds of me being out there.”
