When Midland chose to name their latest EP The Last Resort, they were thinking far beyond just the title of an EP. “We are very much into world building,
“says bassist Cameron Duddy, “and we’ve done that with the album. We’ve done it with the video material that you’ve seen coming out of the album, and will continue that world presentation in our tour this fall and beyond.”
The band even set up a website, TheLastResort.biz, which points visitors to information about ‘The Last Resort, Resort and Day Spa, Resort Only.” It also features drink recipes featuring their Insólito tequila brand, named after the songs on their EP, including The Midland Tequila Sunrise, inspired by their latest single, “Sunrise Tells the Story.”
Midland plans to carry the vibe and the energy they’ve been creating into The Last Resort Tour, which kicks off this Thursday (10/7), and Cameron says, “You are going to hopefully feel like you’re in this escapist Last Resort place when you come to see Midland at a theater near you.”
