DEBUT SINGLE – “Learn From It”
Conner Smith was born and raised in the Nashville area, and his mom was an entertainment reporter on the local news when he was growing up, which proved to be a huge benefit for Conner when he decided in elementary school that he wanted to write songs and become a singer for a living. Conner says, “My parents were so encouraging because they knew what it was. My parents aren’t musically talented at all but they understood the music industry and what it meant to be a songwriter. And so, from getting me guitar lessons when I was 7, to just encouraging me, like, ‘Hey, you haven’t written a song in a week.’ And anytime I would play ‘em, they would act like it was the best thing they’d ever heard.”
Conner just remembers that as a kid, getting that kind of encouragement and positive reinforcement really caused him to chase his dream even harder. “For my little eight-year-old self, like that was super encouraging and really kind of kept that fire lit inside of me,” says Conner, “without being over bearing and kinda letting me figure out what I wanted to do.”
