CURRENT SINGLE – “Sunrise Tells the Story”
Keith Urban has Monkeyville, Luke Bryan has The Nut House and Eric Church has the Church Choir which are the nicknames for their fan groups. Thanks to lead singer Mark Wystrach, Midland affectionately refers to their fans as Midlanderos. Mark explains, “I grew up on the Mexican border and the Mexican culture is important and something that the three of us all enjoy. And I don’t remember when or where it was, but I just threw it out there, you know, Midlanderos. It reminded me of kind of like an old 50’s western or something. And I don’t know, it just kinda caught.”
For those less familiar with the Mexican culture, the name does get a little confusing sometimes. The guys laugh when Jess Carson points out, “Sometimes people will come up and go, what’s the Milanderos?”
