DEBUT SINGLE – “Shuffle”
When Laci Kaye Booth first stepped into the national spotlight on season 17 of American Idol, one thing she wasn’t prepared for were internet trolls, who took pleasure in criticizing her and saying hateful and cruel things about her appearance online. “Hearing the hate and the criticism was just a huge adjustment for me,” says Laci. “I would read every comment about myself at first, and it was so unhealthy at the time.”
Rather than let the hateful comments have a negative impact on her, Laci learned how to ignore them, and she says, “Now I don’t read the comments and if people want to say something about my spray tan or lips or my hair, whatever they wanna talk about, I kinda take a Dolly stride with it. I’m like, I am who I am and it’s probably not gonna change anytime soon. I like to be tan and I like big lips and I like my hair to be blonde,” Laci says with a laugh.

“Hearing the hate and the criticism was just a huge adjustment for me. I would read every comment about myself at first, and it was so unhealthy at the time. And now I don’t read the comments and if people want to say something about my spray tan or lips or my hair, whatever they wanna talk about, I kinda take a Dolly stride with it. I’m like, I am who I am and it’s probably not gonna change anytime soon. I like to be tan, and I like big lips, and I like my hair to be blonde (laugh).”
