Eli Young Band’s brand new single, “Love Talking,” is officially out and being played on the radio, and Mike Eli, who co-wrote the song with Jeffrey East and Eric Arjes, and Mike explains, “The idea started with, ‘that was just the booze talkin’. And it was like the idea of blaming it on the booze when you know it was sometimes the truth.”
Mike and his co-writers took that concept and flipped it on its head, to admit that they weren’t drunk when they said what they said, can’t blame it on booze, so whatever I confessed or let slip, that was just the “Love Talking.” And Mike says, “Jeffrey and Eric, the co-writers, they kinda ran with it. And I think that they’re both so incredibly talented.”
Mike Eli was a non-stop writing machine during the pandemic, when the world was shut down, and he says, “I actually wrote a bunch of songs with (Jeffrey and Eric) over 2020, and this was one of the best ones.”
