CURRENT SINGLE: “Slow Down Summer”
Thomas Rhett just announced that he and his cousin Jeff are expanding their Dos Primos tequila brand to include a reposado, in addition to its flagship blanco they released in 2021. Thomas is thrilled to be in a position to grow the brand because he says, “When I got into this, it started just from the core value of the fact that I wanted to do something with my cousin. And when that turned into tequila, it turned into a passion project for both of us, and then that passion project turned into something that actually turned out to be really good, and something that’s doing really well. And I think both of us are still kinda shocked at that.”
While Thomas and Jeff had high hopes for their tequila, whose name translates to Two Cousins, he says, “I don’t know, maybe internally, we were just like, oh, this probably won’t do anything. And now that it has, I think, you know, we’re starting to kinda understand what’s the future of the brand, and for us it’s being able to allow tequila to tell a bunch of people’s stories in a very interesting way.”
When they launched Dos Primos, the cousins had a vision of the tequila being enjoyed by people who enjoy the great outdoors, people who enjoyed getting out and living life to the fullest, and so now that they’ve launched the reposado, he says they’re looking forward to “finding people that we think are just super cool, whether that’s a fly fishing guide in Idaho or a famous chef in Montana or people that do really, really cool things in the outdoors and getting to bring on some ambassadors.”
If the reposado of Dos Primos does as well as the blanco, Thomas and his cousin Jeff would love to expand the brand even further in the future.

“When I got into this, it started just from the core value of the fact that I wanted to do something with my cousin. And when that turned into tequila, it turned into a passion project for both of us, and then that passion project turned into something that actually turned out to be really good, and something that’s doing really well. And now that it has, I think, you know, we’re starting to kinda understand what’s the future of the brand, and for us it’s being able to allow tequila to tell a bunch of people’s stories in a very interesting way. And so, this year we’ve got the privilege of launching our reposado, which is really exciting. So, the blanco came out first, reposado just launched, and potentially one day completing the whole family, and also just kind of finding people that we think are just super cool, whether that’s a fly fishing guide in Idaho or a famous chef in Montana or people that do really, really cool things in the outdoors and getting to bring on some ambassadors.”
