DEBUT SINGLE : “Don’t Come Lookin’”
Newcomer Jackson Dean is making his debut at country radio this week with his song, “Don’t Come Lookin’.” It turns out the song was inspired by a pretty deep thought he had as a kid. “So, ‘Don’t Come Lookin’’ was written with me and Luke Dick,” says Jackson, “and we were just kinda knockin’ around trying to find something to write. And I thought of something that I used to say to my mom before I left the house. I just started saying to her one day, I was like, ‘Mom, if I don’t come back just don’t come lookin’ for me. Like, I’m being dead serious. Just don’t come lookin’.”
Jackson explained to his mom if he didn’t come home when he went out into the woods or wherever he went to disappear for the day, “It means I don’t want to come back.’”
Jackson says, “I said that to Luke and he was like, ‘That is awesome!’ So, we wrote it and it’s really just about gettin’ out where people aren’t – gettin’ away from the world, you know, which I think if people did a little bit more, the world would be a little bit more sane.”
According to Jackson, although “Don’t Come Lookin’” has a pretty profound meaning, “It’s a stomper and straight up rock ‘n’ roll.”
