(AUDIO) CONNER SMITH WAS HIS OWN WORST ENABLER THE FIRST TIME HE PLAYED BLACKJACK IN A CASINO

DEBUT SINGLE – “Learn From It”

A lot of the country music community will be heading to Las Vegas week in preparation for next Monday night’s ACM Awards, which means some people will likely be spending time in the casinos. Conner Smith remembers his first time in a casino. It was the night of his 21st birthday, and he had just finished opening a show at the casino for Sam Hunt.  Afterward, he decided to try his hand at blackjack, and says, “I kept getting in trouble because I was kind of gettin’ swarmed from people who went to the show asking for pictures. They don’t allow pictures at the table.”

The other reason it wasn’t great that Conner was seeing his fans while he was playing blackjack is because he says, “I’d be sitting there, you know, I’d just lost a hand, and then I watch someone walk by with a Connor Smith T-shirt, and I’m like, ‘I could go again.’”

Ultimately, novice blackjack player Conner says, “I lost in blackjack what I made in T-shirt [sales] that night. It about evened out.”

“I sat at the blackjack table, and we went after the show, and I kept getting in trouble because I was kind of gettin’ swarmed from people who went to the show asking for pictures. They don’t allow pictures at the table, but I lost in blackjack what I made in T-shirts that night. It about evened out. And so I’d be sitting there, you know, I’d just lost a hand, and then I watch someone walk by with a Connor Smith T-shirt, and I’m like, I could go again. So, it all evened out.”
