(AUDIO) UNLIKE THE CHARACTER IN HIS LATEST SONG, TIM McGRAW HAS GREAT MEMORIES OF HIS TRUCK GROWING UP

CURRENT SINGLE – “7500 OBO”

In Tim McGraw’s latest song, “7500 OBO,” the guy needs to sell his truck because it has too many memories in it of his ex-girlfriend, but Tim has a lot of great memories about the truck he had when he was growing up.  “I mean, there’s so many memories of drivin’ to the lake and hangin’ out and swimming at the lake, and the tailgate down on my 70 Ford pick-up and hangin’ out and racin’ on the back country roads,” says Tim with a smile.

Tim remembers one of his favorite things he and his buddies would do when they all got together with their trucks. “We grew up in a farming community,” explains Tim, “and I can remember bein’ in a cotton field with everybody’s trucks around a bonfire, and everybody sort of playin’ guitars and singin’ Hank Williams songs or turnin’ the radio up and listenin’ to George Strait or Journey or something like that, wide open.”

Looking back, Tim says, “Those are great coming of age memories that I have as a teenager, you know, and driving and listening to music.”
