DEBUT SINGLE – “Learn From It”
Conner Smith has been a fan of country music his whole life, and over the years he’s put together what he would consider his Mt. Rushmore of country stars that he idolizes, looks up to and admires as a fellow artist. “My Mt. Rushmore of my inspiration and my influences – Johnny Cash, Randy Travis, Kenny Chesney and Eric Church,” says Conner.
Each guy makes the list for different reasons to Conner. “For me,” he says, “Johnny Cash has just always been my guy. Like, I just love everything Johnny Cash – the vibe, his music. So, Johnny Cash has just always been my dude. And then Randy Travis, I just love his songs so much. Such good writing. And then I would say Kenny Chesney is my Garth Brooks. That dude was just the guy – first concert I ever went to, first song I ever sang. Every single Kenny Chesney song I can sing it back to you. He’s a dude I’ve studied for a long time.”
And finally, Conner would put Eric Church on his Mt. Rushmore of country artists because he says, “Eric Church is just a king a songwriting and telling stories and making you feel something, and building a community of people that just come together at his shows for the same belief and the same cause.”
As someone who dreams of having the same impact on people with his music as Eric has, Conner says, “Eric Church might be the only dude in Nashville I would get starstruck by.”
