DEBUT SINGLE – “Learn From It”
Most people who choose to chase their dream of becoming a country music artist have to pack up their lives and leave home to make the move to Nashville, but Conner Smith is a rare exception who was born and raised about 15 minutes outside of Nashville, which he knows makes him pretty lucky. “Not having to move somewhere to chase a dream and having my family and my support system and my friends here has been a huge blessing in more ways than I think I even know.”
Conner was able to start working on his career while he was still in high school and still living at home with his parents, and he says, “I really can’t imagine what it would be like to load down my truck and have to drive eight hours to a city I’ve never been, to people I don’t know, with no money to my name. And so, I think it’s just been pretty cool to be able to live in the environment that I’ve always known. There is no wild new world that I’m experiencing.”
Conner has seen other artist friends of his move to Nashville and not have the support system and the home base that he has, and he says, “It’s definitely been a huge blessing and something that I don’t take for granted. I really can’t imagine having to move to a completely different world to chase the most unpredictable dream. So, yeah, I definitely don’t take that for granted.”
Conner was also fortunate that his mom was a TV entertainment reporter in Nashville, so pursuing a career as an artist or a songwriter wasn’t a crazy idea when he told his parents that’s what he wanted to do with his life.
