CURRENT SINGLE: “Slow Down Summer”
As any parent with young kids knows, Thomas Rhett rarely gets to choose what he watches on TV or listens to on the radio because he has four daughters under the age of six who pretty much make the decisions. “If me and Lauren get a chance to watch a TV show, which is rare,” says Thomas, “we finished Yellowstone and we finished 1883, but those two have been our diehard favorites.”
But usually, it’s his kids who choose what to watch or what to listen to, so Thomas says, “We’ve been watching Sing 2 quite a bit. We’ve been watching Encanto every day. My two-year-old, Lennon, when we get in the car she just keeps saying, ‘Surface! Surface!,’ because there’s a song on that album called ‘Surface Pressure.’ And so that is really what we’ve been listening to for basically the last two years.”
Good news and bad news for Thomas – Yellowstone will return for its fifth season this summer, but 1883 is being replaced by the next Yellowstone prequel installment, which will be called 1932, featuring a whole new cast. Until then, Thomas will have to figure out how to get “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and the rest of the Encanto soundtrack out of his head.
