All four guys in Eli Young Band have daughters, and all four of them are dreading the day when their daughters are old enough to start dating. Mike Eli’s daughter, Kline, will turn ten this year, making her the oldest of the girls, and one thing that he feels good about is that when she gets to be a teenager, there will be virtually no way for her to sneak out of the house, thanks to his obsession with keeping his house safe and secure. Mike says, “I tend to be a little bit paranoid about my house. So, I’ve got security protocols, like, you know, I’ve got a lot of cameras. So, she is in for it. Because there’s going to be no sneaking in, sneaking out. There’s just no way. Even when I’ll be on the road, there’s no way for her to get in, get out.”
It’s not that Mike wants to smother his daughter when she gets older, he just wants to know where she’s at, and that she is safe. Although, when Mike’s bandmate Jon Jones joked that kids aren’t being microchipped yet, Mike confessed, “But I would, if that was available. I would totally microchip my kid.”
All we can say is, good luck in about five to seven years, Kline!
