(AUDIO) THOMAS RHETT IS ALL ABOUT THE MINOR DETAILS IN HIS LIVE SHOWS

CURRENT SINGLE: “Slow Down Summer”

Thomas Rhett takes planning his tours very seriously, especially with a new album to incorporate into his show, and he says, “Every year it gets more challenging, because I think every year you think, this is my best idea. And then when you accomplish that, you get off the road in October and you’ve got four months to think about how to top that.”

For Thomas, part of giving his fans the best show he possibly can is knowing what they’re getting when they see their other favorite artists in concert that same year. “You know, we’ve been headlining now for almost 5 years, and so you kinda go into this brain space of like, well what is so-and-so doing?” Thomas admits.  “What’s their stage look like? How long are they playing? How short are they playing? You kinda just take all this intel and go, what does that look like for us this year?”

Part of planning for a fresh new tour for Thomas involves not only figuring out how to incorporate some of the new music from his Where We Started album into his set list, but he says, also, “Lookin’ at hits that may have come out six years ago that people have heard the same way for six years.  How do we kind of spice that up a little bit or how do we rearrange it? Or how do we take a super tempo and do it just acoustic?  Or how do we take a ballad and turn it into something that’s not a ballad? You know, I think people remember that stuff.”

And as much as it drives some of the people around him crazy, Thomas is meticulous about attention to detail when it comes to planning his live shows because he says, “It’s all about minor details to me.  Because we could go out and play a show right now and it be fine, but I think people really appreciate the fact, and can tell, when you’ve put a lot of work into a show.”

Thomas will launch his ‘Bring the Bar to You Tour’ on June 17th and 18th with two nights in Gilford, NH.
