(AUDIO) TIM McGRAW IS BEYOND READY TO GET BACK ON STAGE AND SING LIVE MUSIC

CURRENT SINGLE: “7500 OBO”

Later this month, Tim McGraw will kick off his McGraw 2022 Tour, which will be his first solo tour in six years, and his first tour since the world shut down for the pandemic back in 2020.  Tim says, “The funny thing is, I’d said for years, gosh, you know I wish I had a year off. I wish I had three or four, six months, a year to just sort of get out of the cycle for a bit and relax and recharge my batteries and all those things.”

Little did Tim know that the universe was going to give him what he asked for and then some.  When the pandemic first started, Tim says, “You think, well you know, all this is terrible and there’s so many hardships for everybody, but maybe the silver lining in it is we get to spend time with our family, I’ll get a little time off, you know those sort of things. And then sure enough, it wasn’t a month into it, I was like man, when can I do a show? I gotta have that energy and that connection with the fans.”

Plus, although Tim had the time of his life filming the Paramount+ series 1883, music is and always will be his first love, not to mention it’s a lot cleaner and less grueling than the work he was doing on the TV show.  “We had a great time shootin’ 1883,” Tim says, “but I’m pretty excited to get back on the road and play some music after being in the dirt and in the sun and on horseback for six months. So I’m ready to play some music.”

There are some similarities between acting and performing live music, but Tim says, “There’s something special about a live show between the interaction and the symbiotic relationship that’s created when you play music in front of people.”

The McGraw 2022 Tour will kick off on April 29th and run through June 4th, with opening acts Russell Dickerson, Brandon Davis and Alexandra Kay.  You can see the complete itinerary on timmcgraw.com.

So I’m ready to play some music. It’s been six years since I’ve done a solo tour, and the band and crew and I, we’re really excited. We’re in the middle of puttin’ our show together now and the lights and the sound and the stage and the setlist and everything else. We’re really getting fired up.”
