CURRENT #1 SINGLE: “Never Wanted to Be That Girl” w/ Ashley McBryde
Memorial Day is first and foremost about honoring those men and women who lost their lives while serving our country, and for Carly Pearce, whose sister returned from Kuwait just a couple of months ago, where she was serving with the National Guard, that bravery and sacrifice is never taken for granted.
For a lot of people, Memorial Day also marks the unofficial start of summer and summer travel season, and Carly, who used to clean Air B ‘n B’s in Nashville to make a living, before her career took off, has a message for anyone who will be staying in those types of accommodations on their vacation. “Once you’ve cleaned those nasty things, you realize how nasty people can be,” Carly says. “Remember that there are people that actually have to clean those rooms. So be nice. People are nasty.”
Carly once revealed that cleaning toilets and the hair out of the showers were two of the grossest things she had to do, but the whole experience of cleaning up after people who are on vacation and living in a house for several days or a week was not pleasant. She once said, “The things that I saw may have scarred me.
