If you follow Thomas Rhett on social media, you’ve probably seen his pretty impressive photography skills. It’s a hobby he’s gotten more serious about over the last couple of years. Thomas shares how photography became another creative outlet for him, and whether he’d consider creating a collection of his photos for his fans in the form of a coffee table book or an art exhibit of some sort in the future.

“I love it so much. My brother-in-law Grayson got me into photography a couple years back. And I literally bought a camera and just thought, well I’ll just do automatic, and just shoot things that I think are fun. And as I started to watch him shoot in such an artistic way, I kinda started to relate it a little bit to my music. Like, I spend so much time and detail, not only on the song, but then recording it and mixing it, then mastering it. And so finding the right scenes, the right settings, going in and spending a ton of time on the edit, making sure I’m picking the right photos and not just editing all the photos, it’s turned into some pictures that I know will be on my wall for forever. I think one of the biggest reasons I got into it was just cause I don’t want just a bunch of iPhone photos when I’m 50. I want some real pieces of some real memories. And I don’t know if anybody would buy a coffee table book if I put it out, but it’d be fun to do at least for my family. As far as an exhibit goes, I don’t know. I might have one photo that someone would want to look at. But it really is just a hobby and somethin’ fun to do, and a cool way to relive really special moments in time.“
