DEBUT SINGLE – “Don’t Come Lookin’”
Besides his music, something else Jackson Dean is known for are the hats he wears, which he says are inspired by the style of hats Stevie Ray Vaughn used to wear. It turns out Jackson has a guy in Nashville who custom makes all of his hats for him.
Jackson Dean – hat :39
“So, my guy, he’s right over here off of Gallatin Pike in Nashville. He’s been makin’ my hats for four years. The first one I got was from HatWRKS in Nashville, and I brought it to him to get it re-shaped, and he was like, ‘Oh, whoa. I made this hat when I used to work there.’ So he’s been doin’ ‘em for a couple years. He does really great work. They literally last a lifetime. But as far as the why, I just always loved a good hat. It really beats flat brims, which I wore when I was like a teenager, you know. But that’s cause I was mostly workin’, construction workin’, and just needed something to keep the sweat outta my face.”
The hat Jackson wears most often these days is the same one he wore on the cover of his Greenbroke album – the black hat with the black and white hatband and a couple of feathers on one side, which he had made specifically for that photo shoot. He loved it so much he has pretty much worn it exclusively since then.
