(AUDIO) RILEY GREEN DIDN’T HAVE ANY EXPECTATIONS WHEN HE WAS PAYING HIS DUES IN MUSIC

CURRENTLY FEATURED ON: “Half of Me” with Thomas Rhett

They say Nashville is a ten year town, because it seems to take most artists around ten years to get their career off the ground once they start working for it. Riley Green was no exception, although he spent most of his ten years paying his dues all over the southeast outside of Nashville, so by the time he got to town things seemed to move a little quickly.  Regardless, Riley says there were a few reasons he didn’t really mind the years he spent working on his music before things started happening for him.

“From the outside it kinda looks like it happened quick. But I played for, I guess, eight or 10 years, you know in little small honky-tonk bars in Alabama and Georgia and Mississippi. And I just really did it as a hobby. I didn’t think anything would ever come from it, so it didn’t seem like it took that long, cause I did it cause I enjoyed it and they let me drink for free.“

Riley is currently opening for Luke Bryan on his Raised Up Right Tour, which runs through October 28th, then he will join Luke Combs for his 2022 Canadian Tour in November.  Riley has also been announced as one of the openers for the U.S. stadium dates on Luke Combs’ 2023 World Tour.
