(AUDIO) BRETT YOUNG REVEALS THE ONE THING THAT ALWAYS BOTHERED HIM ABOUT BEING A BASEBALL PITCHER

CURRENT SINGLE: “You Didn’t”

Brett Young was on track to become a Major League Baseball pitcher until he suffered a career-ending elbow injury while pitching for Ole Miss in college. Based on the success he has had in music, Brett would definitely say things worked out the way they were meant to. Plus, there was always something about being a pitcher that bothered Brett, and he jokes that may be another reason God pointed him toward music and away from baseball as a career.

Brett Young – bothered about baseball  :34

“One thing I like about music that always bothered me about baseball – maybe it’s the thing that people that are meant to go on to play at that level, maybe it’s the thing that they like – but as a pitcher, I always hated that if I did exactly what was asked of me, if I had good stuff and hit my spot in the count where I was supposed to, and the hitter guessed right, I could still lose. I always hated that. You know, I’m throwing a breaking ball on the outside corner exactly when I’m supposed to, and this guy just knew it was coming or guessed right or whatever. With music, if you sound good, you sound good, you sound good. So, maybe that’s like a lazy man’s approach. Maybe that’s why this was meant for me and my couch potato self.“
