“It was an interesting write for us because it was the first time we met, and we did have three very unfruitful hours of songwriting at the front and end of it. It was like I get to know you, but I think we just didn’t have a great idea yet. And I think, speaking for myself, but it felt like when we did the ‘let’s go to lunch’ thing, that that was both of our ways out of the room. And we did, we went and ate and we had an idea and we came back and we finished the song. So, we did good, but we could’ve given up on it. And that’s one of my favorite things about this town is, you know, we could’ve picked Taco Mamacita and had a margarita and not gone back to writing, but we picked Turnip Truck, ate some healthy food, and we went back and wrote a song.”

Brett Young now has seven #1 songs to his credit, and his latest single, “You Didn’t” is currently in the top 15 on the charts.
