(AUDIO) TEENAGE DRAMA IS A GREAT SOURCE OF SONGWRITING INSPIRATION FOR CALLISTA CLARK

NOW STREAMING: “Wish You Wouldn’t” (featuring Jimmie Allen)

Callista Clark is 19 years old, so she knows all too well that teenage drama and angst can be a great source of inspiration for writing songs. When she was writing songs for her debut album, Real to Me: The Way I Feel, she relied on her own experiences and on things she was listening to, including stories from her younger sister.

Callista Clark – where get inspiration to write  :26

“I’ve been listening to a lot of music in general, so it’s just being inspired by other songs or other vibes or other feelings. But then, also, my sister, she’s still in public school, so she has a lot of stories that I’ve been listening to lately, and getting inspiration from. So, most of my songs, if not all of them, are from something that I felt . But if they’re not, then it’s something that my sister told me, something that I hear from my friends, just anything that I can hear a story and grab at.”

One of the songs on Callista’s debut album, Real to Me: The Way I Feel, that was partially inspired by her own experience is “Wish You Wouldn’t,” her duet with Jimmie Allen, about an ex who won’t leave her alone and let her move on.
