current single: “HEAVENS TO BETSY“
Jackson Dean’s dad has been a bricklayer by trade for as long as he can remember, and when Jackson was growing up, he would sometimes work along side his dad laying bricks or laying stone, so he knows what hard work is all about. And Jackson knows that even the worst day of traveling or making music will always be better than the best day of doing that kind of back-breaking work.
Jackson Dean – Labor Day stone work :18
“We always usually say, well, you could be laying stone right now. You could be chopping up mortar in a wheelbarrow. Or you could not have a wheelbarrow and you’d be chopping it up on a piece of plywood, how they used to do it. They used to do it in a circle on the ground. You could be a human mixer for a day. But now you get to go out and sing.”
