Brantley Gilbert currently has two kids, his son Barrett who’s six and daughter Braylen who’s five. Plus he and his wife Amber announced back in June on their ninth wedding anniversary that they are expecting a third child. But when you talk to Brantley about being a dad, he is adamant about the fact that he and his wife are doing much more than just raising their kids.

“Fatherhood was kind of terrifying to me. When we found out we were having him and having her, especially my daughter scares the (bleep) out of me just because, but she’s my little feisty one. If you ask her, ‘Sissy, what are you?’ She’ll tell you, ‘I’m opinyated.’ But I truly believe this, we’re not raising kids, right? I’m raising a king and a queen. Like, I want ‘em to be leaders. I want ‘em to be headstrong, but I want them to have a moral compass to make it justifiab;e. I mean, if you’re gonna lead people, I feel like you at your core have to be good and you have to be strong. And I want ‘em to be in charge of their life. I want ‘em to have lives of their own. But I want faith to be a huge influence in that. I want history to be a huge influence in that. I ain’t raising no punk-ass kids.”
