(AUDIO) JUSTIN MOORE DELIVERS A WELL-ROUNDED, VINTAGE JUSTIN SOUNDING ALBUM WITH THIS IS MY DIRT

current single: “THIS IS MY DIRT

Justin Moore released his new album, This Is My Dirt, on Friday, featuring 12 songs co-written by him, including collaborations with Blake Shelton (“Beer Ain’t One”), Dierks Bentley (“Time’s Ticking”) and Randy Houser (“The Worst”). When it came to writing for the new album, Justin didn’t have a theme or an over-arching concept in mind. He simply wanted to give fans great songs with the sound and feel they’ve come to expect from him.

Justin Moore – what want fans get out of album :50

“I never really go into the making of an album to say something or convey this grandiose message. I know some artists do that. I think it’s vintage me, if you will. Obviously, I’m heavily influenced by the 90s type country, and I think you hear some of that in there. Just like any other album we’ve made, I think fans will come away laughing, having a smile on their face sometimes, rolling the windows down and crankin’ it up at times, or playin’ it on the boat or whatever. And then there are emotional songs too that make you think, maybe make you cry. I think to me, to be able to run the gamut, if you will, on an album is kind of what country music’s all about.”

There are some songs on Justin’s new album that seem to have been inspired by the world around Justin, whether it was something he saw on the news or things he saw happening in his community.

Justin Moore – influenced by world observations :31

“I think you see what’s on the news and people even in different walks of life are Experiencing, and they’re going through, and obviously myself also. But yeah, I think you draw inspiration from things that you experience or you see other people experiencing, and some of the songs, they’re fairly mature, I guess you would call it, like ‘Glad to Be Here’ and ‘The Worst’. And then Some of the stuff we just made up a bunch of crap, you know, like ‘99 Problems, but a Beer Ain’t One’.”

Something that makes Justin’s new album special is that it’s the first of his albums that his entire road band has played on, instead of studio musicians.

Justin Moore – touring band on album :35

“I’ve had some of my touring musicians on some of my songs in the past, but this is the first time that my entire band played the whole album. I think you hear a different energy. And certainly there are incredible musicians that have played on so many albums, including mine, in the past. But it’s human nature, the guys that I’m out there on the road with, they just care more. It’s a little more personal to them, and so I think not to be artsy-fartsy sounding about it, but I do think you can kind of sense that vibe if you will.”
