When we talked to Brantley Gilbert after his wife Amber gave birth to their son, Abram, on his tour bus, backstage at his concert in Tupelo, Mississippi, he revealed to us that his 7-year-old son Barret and almost 5-year-old daughter Braylen were asleep in their bunks on the bus, just feet away from where their mom was giving birth to their baby brother. He was concerned all the commotion might wake them up and they’d come wandering into where their mom was in labor, but Amber was totally cool and calm about it.

“I was actually worried ’cause they were right here beside us, and you know, it was a little noisy up here, so I was kinda worried that, you know, they’d walk into that scene. So, I called the nanny and I was like, ‘Hey, take the kids to the back, turn a movie on real loud.’ And Amber was like, ‘No, they’re asleep. They’re fine.’ And they never came up front. Once I got done with the show and we were settled, my daughter woke up and I went in to get her, and Barrett stuck his little head out of his bunk and I was like, ‘You guys wanna see somethin’ awesome?’ (laugh) They walked in and from the moment they saw him, like if they weren’t his brother and sister, we’d have to file a restraining order. They can’t keep their hands off of him. But we were able to share a really cool moment. At one point it was just me and Amber and Abram and my son and my daughter. It was a really cool moment that we wouldn’t have had at the hospital, just my little family.”
