“As an artist, I’ve learned who exactly I am and what I want to say and do and write about. As a person, I’ve grown a lot, I think. You know, when I first started, I was 23, I think, and kind of a silly kid goin’ out there and actin’ a fool most of the time. Now it’s more like a business. I think I’m a bit more mature. I think my songwriting’s a little more mature. I think I’ve learned who I am, period, whether it be an artist or as a person. But I think you do a lot of growing from each decade, you know, from 20 to 30 and 30 to 40, I think you grow a lot and you learn a lot about not only the world and other people, but I think yourself.”
