When Tim MCGraw, who is from Louisiana, first heard his latest single, “Southern Girl,” he said it was an obvious choice for him to record. “’Southern Girl’ is a song that just reminded me and reminds me, every time I sing it, of the lifestyle that I lived growing up and the things that we used to do growing up. Sort of a—just a visual of my high school and college days, I guess, in Louisiana.” The song is also representative of his life now with Faith Hill and their three daughters. “Since I married a Southern girl and [am] raising Southern girls, it certainly fits my life perfectly,” says Tim.
