Justin Moore kicked off his second headlining tour, the Off the Beaten Path Tour, on Friday and he says getting the chance to headline another tour is awesome. “When we did our first one, I kinda had an idea of what we might go do but you don’t really know ‘til you go do it. It was nerve-wracking and scary and exciting and everything.” Fortunately the tour did very well and he says, “It kinda exceeded our expectations and because of that, we thought, ‘Ok, we better step it up. We’re gonna play some bigger arenas now.’” For this new tour Justin says, “We stepped up the production, the quality of the show. No disrespect to who we had out with us last time, but to have Randy Houser out with us, who’s as hot as anybody right now and Josh Thompson, who has some great new music coming that I’ve heard, I think it’s gonna be great.” Not only will the music be solid, but Justin, whose new single, “Lettin’ the Night Roll,” just started climbing the charts, says, “We’re all really good friends. We’ve known each other for a while. I think we have a mutual respect between all of us. It’s gonna be a lot of fun and I think it’s gonna be mutually beneficial to all three of us.”

“The stressful part of the next headlining tour was we gotta step it up and do it bigger and better this time and that means we gotta get acts out there who are gonna push us, and the most stressful part was trying to lock down Randy Houser and Josh Thompson. There was a long time there where we were going, ‘Man, I hope we get them. I don’t know . . . I don’t want nobody else to get them.’ Both of those guys had a lot of options. I don’t know what made ‘em sign up with us but the fact that they did is huge. They’re two of my best friends in this business and beyond the business, and I’ve said for a long time and I mean it as sincerely as I can say it – I think they’re the two most talented singer-songwriters in our format, period.”
