(AUDIO) The Band Perry Loves Their Rambunctious European Fans

The Band Perry just kicked off their We Are Pioneers Tour in Europe, where they will tour for five weeks before returning to North America, and Reid says they love their European fans because “Pretty much from the get go for us though they’ve always been pretty energetic. It’s almost become protocol at a Band Perry show but Kimberly will sing literally ‘If I Die Young’ and the crowd will then take the song from there. And that started actually for the first time over in London. So they actually are a very loud and rambunctious crowd which we personally really like. They’re fun to play for.”

One thing that amazes Neil is how the language barrier seems to have no effect on their passion for the music.  “The great thing about our European fans is they learn every single word to every song (like their current single, “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely) even if they don’t speak English,” says Neil.  “And I guess that does prove that music is the universal language.”

Kimberly says the one thing that seems to get lost in translation are her jokes, because the European fans don’t laugh at them, so it must be the language barrier, but Reid tells her, “No, that’s your jokes.”

The Band Perry – European fans  :26
Neil: “You know it’s amazing getting to go over and play shows in Europe. That’s one of the things if you asked us fifteen years ago if we thought would ever happen then twenty dollars we would say no. But the great thing about our European fans is they learn every single word to every song even if they don’t speak English. And I guess that does prove that music is the universal language.”

Kimberly: “But they don’t laugh at my jokes. I’m gonna blame that on the language barrier.”

Reid: “No, that’s your jokes.”
