Danielle Bradbery’s self-titled debut album is in stores Monday and she says it’s very likely she’ll be at a store buying her own copy of her album on release day. “I think that’d be really cool and a good moment or feeling for me to go to the store and actually see my CD on the shelf and get to buy it.” The album features her debut single “Heart of Dixie” and a wide variety of songs that Danielle carefully selected as her introduction to country music. When looking for material, Danielle says, she looked for lyrics that she could get into singing and catchy melodies.
“There’s these powerful ballads, which I love and those definitely go both ways of the melody and the words and just the high notes I hit and things like that. The fun songs of imagining how I would perform that on stage and how the crowd would react to it. It was a little bit of both.”
Besides celebrating the release of her album, Danielle will be celebrating Thanksgiving with her family this week, and the one thing she looks forward to every year, which is her grandma’s corn casserole. “(She) makes the best corn casserole so that is something I always expect when there’s Thanksgiving. I call my grandma ‘Nanaw’ so I’m like, ‘Nanaw, do you have that corn casserole?,’ and she’s like, ‘Oh yes.’ She always makes it so that’s what I’m always expecting.”
