Cassadee Pope remembers receiving her first guitar for Christmas when she was just seven years old. “It was a big moment for me because I had been wanting one and I was also too afraid to ask for one because I didn’t think I could play it very well, which I didn’t at all. But, it was big, big day for me.” While Cassadee admits she didn’t really take playing the guitar seriously until she was about 18 she says, “It kind of turned me onto guitar and ever since then I would fiddle on it… I had it around and I wrote a few songs on it.” While she didn’t write her debut single, “Wasting All These Tears,” learning to play the guitar enabled her to write several other songs on her debut album including ‘Everybody Sings,’ ‘You Hear a Song,’ ‘This Car,’ ’11′ and ‘Proved You Wrong.’
