(AUDIO) The Cadillac Three’s “The South” Is An Invitation To Everybody

The title of The Cadillac Three’s new song is “The South,” but band member Jaren Johnston, who wrote the song, says he actually wrote it for everybody, from every corner of the map.  “When I sat down to write ‘The South’ I kinda wanted to write something that was epic and cool like the first time you heard ‘Tuesday’s Gone’ or ‘Sweet Home Alabama’. But I also wanted to include, not just kids from the south, I wanted to include people from the North, East, West, you know. It’s why the end of the chorus it says, ‘even if you’re up north come on down, come on down”.  Ultimately, Jaren says if you listen to the lyrics, “It’s just … like a country wide epic situation that it’s a good party.  And for the kids in the south it’s something they can sing along to and be proud of.”

The Cadillac Three will be playing a few shows in the U.S. before joining Eric Church for a dozen dates in Europe beginning in late February.
