Rascal Flatts new song, “Rewind,” is the first single off their album they’ll be releasing in June, and Jays says they chose to release “Rewind” first because, “We felt like it was a good way to bridge the gap between sort of familiar Rascal Flatts and a new era of Rascal Flatts.”
So many songs are written about the same topics and subject matter, and Jay says, “It’s certainly hard after thirteen years to try to figure out a way to reinvent a wheel. And we do what we do and Rascal Flatts is known for its harmonies and its sound, and hopefully for good quality songs. And we wanted to find the kind of songs that embodied what we wanted to say as an artist, but also took us into a new generation of listeners and country music fans.”
Jay says they also liked the fresh sound of “Rewind.” “It’s definitely is a fresh approach to what Rascal Flatts does with a very familiar sentiment and very sexy song, and we felt like it was a good statement to make out of the box for the record.”
Rascal Flatts will release their new album on June 3rd.

Rascal Flatts – why Rewind first :43
Jay – “We felt like it was a good way to bridge the gap between sort of familiar Rascal Flatts and a new era of Rascal Flatts. You know, it’s certainly hard after thirteen years to try to figure out a way to reinvent a wheel. And we do what we do and Rascal Flatts is known for its harmonies and its sound, and hopefully for good quality songs. And we wanted to find the kind of songs that embodied what we wanted to say as an artist, but also took us into a new generation of listeners and country music fans and I feel like with what we were able to do in the studio with that song it definitely is a fresh approach to what Rascal Flatts does with a very familiar sentiment and very sexy song and we felt like it was a good statement to make out of the box for the record.”
