(AUDIO) The Cadillac Three Is Not Your Typical Country Band

Delivering their own brand of country music, which they describe as “country fuzz,” The Cadillac Three recognizes that they’re not your typical country band. They’re a country band with some Southern Rock and legendary country influences and lead singer Jaren Johnston says, “There were thoughts when we ended our old band of like, ‘How far do we want to take this, as far as the country thing goes?’ We started playing some weird songs that we were like, ‘This just isn’t us.’

Rather than try to fit into any stereotypes of what a country band should be, drummer Neil Mason says they just stuck with what they do best and let the music speak for itself. “What we naturally do is exactly what we sound like on stage… We’ve been playin’ together for so long that it was like, there was no way we could, like, shift into some other vibe.”

They joked that they could have gone the route of calling themselves something more obvious like The Jaren Johnston Band, but Neil says, “We tried that 10 years ago. Yikes.”

The Cadiallc Three’s debut single, “The South,” just entered the charts, featuring their good buddies Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line and Mike Eli from Eli Young Band.
